Premium ceramic coatings for paint, plastics, glass and trim — deeper gloss, chemical resistance, effortless cleaning.
A coating that actually works not a dealership upsell.
5+ YEARS
PAINT + GLASS + PLASTICS + RUBBERS
Everyone has a unique situation, every job is different and is treated as such.

Ceramic, Teflon, Graphene, Titanium, and Self-Healing are all ways to describe a silicone-based coating designed to protect your vehicle’s surfaces. These coatings shield against UV degradation, enhance depth and gloss, and create a hydrophobic, slick surface that repels water and dirt. The result is easier cleaning, reduced swirl marks, and paint that stays vibrant for longer.
Longevity depends on the product, but it also relies heavily on the owner’s care. Even a 7-year coating can fail within 12 months if it isn’t maintained properly, while a 12-month coating can last longer with regular washing and proper care. Usage, kilometres driven, and storage conditions all play a role in the durability and performance of the coating.
Ceramic coatings are not designed to prevent scratches — that’s where PPF comes in. Some coatings can resist very light marring, like minor swirls from incorrect washing, but they won’t stop deeper scratches. For example, rubbing bird droppings or other abrasive contaminants with your finger will likely leave a mark.
The ceramic coating market is flooded with brands all claiming extreme durability, scratch resistance, or miracle “graphene technology.” The truth? Only a select few companies actually formulate and manufacture their own coatings. The rest are just rebranded / white-labelled products from the same overseas factories.
While budget always plays a role, the reputation and integrity of the coating brand matter far more in the long run.
Because when performance falls short and you go back to the detailer, you’ll often find the detailer has already jumped ship to a “new and better” brand, leaving you stuck with the failed coating and no real support.
That’s where proven brands stand apart: consistency, accountability, and genuine backing from the manufacturer, not empty promises and marketing spin.
It’s quite simple. A ceramic coating enhances your vehicle's shine, depth, and clarity. When combined with proper washing techniques, coatings can offer protection that lasts for years, not just months.
Depending on your needs, we’ll guide you through a selection process to find the product that best suits your situation. There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution. If a product claims to do everything, compromises have likely been made. Instead, we tailor a package to suit you and your vehicle.
Take Modesta Private Label, for example. It’s not suited to a daily driver that lives outdoors and doesn’t receive regular care from a detailer. But for a garage queen or an exotic vehicle that’s used sparingly and expected to look flawless, Private Label is ideal. Its visual impact is unmatched when maintained correctly.
On the other hand, for your daily driver, we offer options like Modesta BC-X and Undrdog Hybrid Ceramic Coating that balance performance, durability, and ease of maintenance.
Get in touch, and we’ll help you choose the right protection based on how you use your vehicle and how you want it to look long-term.
It all sounds amazing and bulletproof, but what does reality actually look like? Let’s take a minute and break down what’s really being claimed.
A coating needs to be strong to resist physical abrasion. You’ll often see “9H/10H hardness” thrown around, but that’s misleading. You’re essentially being told a liquid is harder than a diamond, a material formed under extreme pressure over tens of thousands of years. That’s simply not true.
A good-quality coating doesn’t make your paint invincible. Instead, it adds strength to the underlying clear coat and helps reduce the chances of marring, which usually comes from friction or contaminants rubbing against your paintwork.
Flexibility is just as important as hardness. Australia sees everything from scorching heat to snow in the Victorian Alps.
A coating must expand and contract with your environment. A coating that’s too hard will crack or fail under these temperature extremes.
Gloss and clarity are also key. Materials like graphene are impressive in theory, but in practice, additives can darken the coating or introduce coarse particles, which can actually reduce gloss and increase the chance of marring — the opposite of what you want.
Self-healing coatings are often overpromised. They can only repair very minor abrasions, and even then not always effectively. Because self-healing relies on flexibility, it’s a trade-off: softer coatings may self-heal slightly but are more easily marked. For real scratch protection, nothing beats Paint Protection Film (PPF).
What does this all mean?
Most of the hype you hear is exaggerated. Many installers don’t fully understand the chemistry of what they’re applying, and warranties rarely hold up under real-world conditions. That’s why we don’t promise arbitrary “X-year” lifespans. A car kept in an air-conditioned garage and driven occasionally will see vastly different results from one left under a gum tree and washed twice a year — even with the same coating.
TL;DR: I take my profession seriously. I research so you don’t have to.
Period.
The image above, taken at 400x under a metallurgical microscope, shows a graphene oxide solution. Notice the inconsistent shapes, reduced gloss, and lack of a proper 2D lattice. Graphene in this form is not flexible and won’t magically protect your paint.

PPF isn’t just a trend; it’s a logical evolution in paint protection. Ceramic coatings improve water repellency and gloss, but they can’t stop rock chips or road debris. PPF fills that gap. The “craze” is really just owners catching up to what serious protection looks like.

Protecting Your Assets
I started my detailing journey like the cliche — out of Mum’s garage. At a crossroads in life, I was choosing between Software Development and Detailing. The decision was simple in the end: Detailing gave me a genuine sense of fulfilment. I never found myself dreading a day’s work.
Since ceramic coating my first vehicle in 2018, I’ve pursued advanced training both interstate and internationally. Along the way, I’ve built strong relationships within the detailing community — connecting with like-minded professionals, suppliers, and distributors.
Today, I’m fortunate to be approached by companies to trial new products, provide guidance to fellow detailers, and run hands-on training nights for local car clubs. What started in a garage has grown into a purpose-driven business built on passion, knowledge, and pride in the craft.
So come pop past the shop, 639 Magill Rd, Magill 5072
Ever since our first ceramic coating install in 2018 we have achieved a fair few goals.
